What is Nutritional Therapy?Nutritional Therapy is a complementary therapy that works well alongside other therapies and does not replace any medical advice. Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. As a registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns. My approach is to consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Personalised nutrition is tailored specifically for you, taking into account your health journey, your health goals and dietary preferences. I may use functional tests to inform the recommendations that are based on your unique biological individuality. Personalised nutrition consultations are relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis; anyone with persistent digestive issues or those wishing to support an autoimmune condition, as well as those looking to enhance their health and wellbeing. Recommendations are not a replacement for medical advice; practitioners frequently work alongside medical professionals to support individuals’ wellbeing. As a BANT practitioner, I do not diagnose or treat disease, and recommendations are not a replacement for medical advice; practitioners frequently work alongside medical professionals to support individual’s wellbeing. More information can be found on Personalised Nutrition – BANT

What is alcohol?Alcohol is an intoxicating substance that is produced by the fermentation of grains, fruits, or other sources of sugar. It is a central nervous system depressant, meaning that it slows down the brain and body functions, resulting in a relaxed state. Alcohol can be consumed in different forms, such as beer, wine, and spirits.

Will I need to take supplements when I stop drinking? My approach is based on food first but I may also recommend tests and supplements where appropriate. When drinking alcohol, the body loses essential vitamins and minerals which are necessary for optimal health and wellness. Taking supplements helps to replenish the body with these nutrients and can help to prevent deficiencies that may occur. Additionally, supplements can help to reduce cravings, brain fogs and fatigue. Finally, taking supplements can help to improve overall energy levels and provide the body with the essential nutrients it needs. For example, taking B-complex vitamins can help to replenish the body's stores of thiamine, which is often depleted in those who drink heavily. For each package (Basic, Silver & Gold), you will be asked to complete a medical and health questionnaire including information on your medication, lifestyle such as sleep, exercise, and relaxation and a 3-day food diary before your 1st session so we can gain an understanding of your current health situation. Following the completion of your medical and health questionnaire and after the 1st consultation, appropriate and carefully selected nutritional supplements will be recommended or supplied depending on the package selected. The Basic package does not include supplements, but recommendations will be given. A personalised 10% discount code will be shared if you wish to purchase supplements. The Silver package includes 4 key supplements for a 4-week supply, delivered at your designated address or at one of our sessions (RRP £85). If you don’t wish to take supplements or can’t take them due to your current medications, (for example Metformin or Warfarin), the price of £85 will be reduced from the Silver package. A personalised 10% discount code will be shared if you wish to purchase again supplements. The Gold package does not include supplements, but a functional medicine lab home kit test (RRP £89) which will be delivered to your designated address, and you will get interpretation of your functional medicine lab test results.
